Quality assurance

Tested at every stage.

Manufacturing process

Control begins with the steel.

High carbon steel, chrome steel and micro-alloy boron steel are primarily used to manufacture agricultural disc blades. Because discs work in abrasive soil conditions, raw material selection is essential to optimum output.

Cutting

Steel sheet is accurately cut into a round disc blank.

Bending

The round sheet is formed using different dies for different disc sizes and concavities.

Shot blasting

Automatic shot blasting improves surface finish and supports greater fatigue life.

Inspection plan

Checks that protect field performance.

Dedicated technicians monitor chemical, mechanical, dimensional and visual attributes across production.

Chemical composition

Sample lots are inspected before the required raw material quantity is ordered.

Hardness testing

Confirms that achieved hardness is within the prescribed range for strength and toughness.

Wobble testing

Checks axial deviation of points on the disc edge as the disc rotates about its centre.

Eccentricity testing

Identifies radial deviation of edge points perpendicular to the disc axis.

Dimensional testing

Verifies size, thickness, centre hole, concavity, fixing holes, PCD, bevel length and angle.

Crack & visual testing

Identifies surface cracks, scales, pits, nicks, burns and other visible flaws.
